Family Visit

My family drove in for a quick weekend visit that was over way too fast! We had so much fun having company and playing games and watching movies....Not to mention how much fun my little girls had with their aunts! We did the tram ride for the first time ever this week and it was so much fun (although very high). Here are a few pics.

Halloween 2007

So, I know we are behind in posting this--but Halloween was lots of fun this year. Gracie was so excited to go and was ready to head out around 5. Abby stayed and helped Mom man the door and the candy bucket....we were sure busy!

And, on another note, here is Mom dressed up for a Veteran's Day concert...we sang "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy".

Tagged!

Well, here goes my tag list…I completely understand if you don’t read this thing---It’s a long one. Thanks for the tag Krista ()!

1. I am deathly afraid of spiders and bugs. Apparently I make horrifying gasping noises and screams when I see them that make Craig very upset at me (He always thinks I have discovered a rodent the size of Texas when I make them…). Either way, I don’t like them. I even called my visiting teacher to come over and kill one once for me so I wouldn’t have to stare at it all day until Craig came home to rescue me….I’m sure that they serve some kind of purpose on this earth, but I don’t want that purpose fulfilled in my house!

2. I am reality TV junkie. I can unfortunately tell you who is currently vying for Bachelor Brad’s affections, who I think should be America’s next top model, and who had the hottest dance moves and most scandalous outfits on Dancing with the Stars.

3. I absolutely love babies---Especially mine. As a teenager I used to decorate my school spirals not with pictures of the latest teenage heart-throb, but with cutout pictures of babies from my Mom’s parenting magazines….Freaky, I know. I even collected baby dolls and pictures of babies decorated my room. They’re just so cute! I always wanted and knew I would be a Mom too—It was my ultimate dream (now fulfilled). Maybe I’m just a nurturer by nature….

4. I like to write. I don’t know how many people know this about me…I know my family does. I have a stash of stories and poems that I have done since I was old enough to write…..I dream someday of being able to get all the ideas of mine on paper and perhaps publish a book. Maybe I’ll be the next J.K. Rowling (Without the part of making important characters gay ….)

5. I am also a Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman junkie. I am almost the owner to the entire series (I’m getting the last 2 seasons for Christmas-thank Mom ) and I love to just sit and watch the episodes back to back (this was a 1 hour show…). I think part of this comes from my secret desire to have been born in earlier, simpler times and live on a large family farm out in the old Wild West. How cool would it have been to have just acre after acre of undeveloped land to walk through and not have to worry about gun-toting, gang-joining crazies in the world… (Yeah, yeah—I know about the James Younger gang…. )

6. I’m sure everyone knows this one, but I LOVE hanging out with my husband….Being all by ourselves out here now, we have had to just hang out and it has been so fun. We have become very competitive at board games, like to go on book searches at Barnes and Noble, play with our little crazy offspring, and go on lots of bike rides and walks. He truly is my BEST friend!

7. I love rainy weather. I know most people would prefer the really warm sunny days of summer, but I LOVE days that are dark and rainy. I especially love storms with lots of loud thunder and bright lighting. Granted, I like to be inside my house on these days, but I think they are truly the perfect days.

So now I have to tag 7 people:Here's who I tag:

1. Katie
2. Kristy
3. Marci
4. Marja
5. Elle
6. Sarah
7. Lynsey

Link to your tagger (like I did with Krista) and also post these rules on your blog:
1-Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird
2-Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
3- Let them know they are TAGGED by leaving a comment on their blog
* Sorry guys--the link thing isn't working for me right now....

Trunk or Treat

Last night we started off our October candy fest with our ward's trunk or treat. The girls were so excited to dress up, even though Abby would not let us keep her cute little witch hat on for anything--not even a quick picture. You can see our failed attempts below....
Trying to be quick:

Trying again:

One last try:

Grace initially was going to be a princess, but thanks to countless viewings of her "Barbie as Rapunzel" DVD, she decided to go that route. We recently gave her a haircut which made her quite distraught because as she told us, "I can't be Rapunzel! Rapunzel has LONG hair", so we bought some yellow yarn and made her a long braid which she has proudly been wearing around the house for the past few days. :) I love that Grace is old enough now to "get into" Halloween...So much fun!

Our little dancing queen! Grace spent the evening running around the gym and dancing to our very good and very loud band.

Our little Artist

Grace loves to draw and recently has gotten into drawing people...I have posted a recent masterpiece of hers--Isn't it colorful? I have also posted a picture that I drew when I was just a little bit older than her--I think it's fun to see the similarities in our pictures.

And, since we're comparing artwork, here is a picture of me when I turned 3--and a picture of Grace--we do have a bit in common....

New Table-thanks T

My girls have been completely in love with their new little table. Craig spent the weekend sanding and sealing the wood and we got it all put together yesterday. It's funny how furniture "just the right size" makes kids so incredibly giddy. Grace and Abby have been playing with tea set on it so well together...
