Busy...

Sorry we've been slacking on our blogging....Tomorrow morning we head out to see Katie and Mike and kiddos and Kristy and Peter and kiddos on our way back to NM. The girls are really excited about seeing their cousins. We are hoping to get out ahead of any storms that Fay may or may not bring to SC.
It's with really mixed emotions that we head back. SC is beautiful...Their state motto "Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places" isn't exaggerating. We snuck out after dinner on Tuesday for a quick swim at the beach while the sun was setting (I love being so close that we can do that). My girls love the water and running away from the waves. (Sorry our camera's battery died or we'd have pictures). We are really going to miss the water and the trees.
Grace has already started to ask me when we will be coming back to SC to see her friends. I think we have thoroughly confused our daughter with all this moving around this year. :) She is really sad about leaving behind her new friends and I'm sure will continue to be the devout pen-pal she likes to be. I'm going to miss our new friends too--Our ward here is very sweet and I've been so thankful for the friendships we've made.
Anyway, we are heading back and should be home around Tuesday night next week after some nice long hours in the car. :) We're going through areas we've never been all the way home though, so that is always fun for us. NM has always treated us well so we are optimistic about the coming years and looking forward to being closer to family. We're looking forward to seeing the old ward and friends again. It'll be great being in our house too surrounded by our stuff (we've been in a furnished apartment) and hopefully in a few years the market may pick up and we can try to sell again. (Let us know if any of you know anyone moving to our area :)

We hope you all have a great weekend!

What we've been up to...

This afternoon the girls and I went to a friend from the ward who lives on the island with us and we made little aprons for the girls. The girls were pretty excited about getting to pick out their fabrics and help sew. They turned out pretty cute for a little afternoon project. They helped make doll blankets with the leftover fabric.

And here are some pics of my b-day flowers. So pretty, huh?

Also, fyi for anyone who hasn't heard--we leave SC in just a few weeks. Lots of cleaning to do!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy AbBy!

Well, we can hardly believe that little Abby has been a part of our family for 2 years! I wish there was a way to pause time and keep my little girls, well, my little girls! :) They are just the sweetest, brightest, BEST part of our lives. On Abby's birthday we ended up going out to eat and saw Wall-E (the only movie working time-wise with my kiddos)....Abby liked the HUMONGOUS bucket of popcorn more than the movie and wandered around our row during the last half, but still enjoyed her day.

Happy Birthday!

Gifts in the mail-Thanks G'ma and G'pa and Megan and Zoe!

Abby opening gifts in UT from the family (We let her open some on Grace's b-day so they could all be there). Thanks everyone!

Moth

Since I'm already posting today, here's a pic of a lovely moth we found outside today.

Our baby is 4!!

Grace's birthday was on our trip and I am so glad we were able to share it with family. Thanks Rod and Marja for letting us stop by too! Craig and I really are amazed that is has already been 4 years with her. She is growing up way too fast!

Outside the Red Baron (I think that's the name) where we stopped for hamburgers and ice cream--two of Gracie's favorites!

Yellowstone

Well, we're back. We flew in last night and are slowly getting used to the time change again and getting caught up on sleep. We realized last night that in the last month we have been on 10 flights!! Busy month for us. :)
The trip was amazing and we miss being there. The girls had a blast catching up with their cousins and were "go-go-go" the entire trip (well, except for the car where they would both promptly fall asleep!). Yellowstone was amazing (as you can see from the pictures below) and we had so much fun staying up way too late and playing games with everybody. Once we got to the Old Faithful cabins we spent the late hours in the lodge playing "bang". So much fun and so much to see. We loved being at G'ma and G'pa's 50th Anniversary party. Congrats again guys! The 4th rounded things up for us with some more game playing, fireworks in the street, gorgeous fireworks in the air, and good 'ol watermelon. We really miss you guys and my girls are missing their cousins. Thanks again for the trip and the housing and food! We need to do it again soon!

The dragon's breath or mouth -one of my favorite's

Of course we saw buffalo...pretty close in fact. This one was right outside our car.

We got to wait while the buffalo sat in the middle of the road. I loved seeing all the babies--so sweet!

Craig and I forgot the name of the waterfalls that these stairs go to, so we'll just call them the steep stairs of doom. For those who do not like heights or a lot of stairs--BEWARE!

Another view of the steep stairs!

The waterfall was definetely worth the workout....Absolutely breath-taking!

A shot of the group picnicking after the stair workout.

Grace and Annie playing ponies

Abby loves rocks and was picking up rocks and throwing them everywhere we went. She thought she'd give this one a try....

Grace sleeping mid-coloring. The girls seriously were asleep as soon as we hit the road.

Anemone- Craig and I's favorite

Morning Glory pool- Don't you want to just jump on in??

G'pa with Grace, Annie, and Carter

Castle--We waited over an hour for this one and poor Craig missed it because Grace had to go potty...What a good Daddy!

Abby taking pictures with her little toy camera...

4th of July- Abby decided to eat a frosting cone instead of an ice cream cone at G'ma and G'pa's party.

We got something to grow!!!

We're not sure if our squash is going to make it...It hasn't been looking too good, but we do have 3 beautiful green peppers growing and a handful of tomatoes so far. I'm so excited that some of our vegis are working out for us. :) Hopefully they'll survive our trip...
